The Foodbank has been the countywide hub for emergency food distribution since 1982, providing 10 million pounds of healthy food annually (half fresh produce) to over 173,000 Santa Barbara County residents. From warehouses in Santa Maria and Santa Barbara, food is distributed through partnerships with 300+ nonprofit agencies, schools, and community centers.
Nutrition education programs for children and families promote food security and healthier communities. All Foodbank programs and support are free to residents. Every $1 donated provides 8 healthy meals for local children, families, and seniors, helping break the cycle of food insecurity
